Objectives
At the end of this module students will be able to demonstrate: a clear understanding of the economic analysis of international trade; and an ability to use economic theory and models to assess the impact of trade on the economy.Syllabus
Traditional and alternative models of international trade; the determinants of the pattern of trade; the effects of trade on the distribution of income; free trade versus protection; trade in factors of production; and multimationals and trade.
Teaching methods
Lectures: 11 x 1 hour, Workshops: 4 x 1 hour.
Private study
For each 10 credits of study taken, the expectation is that the normal study time (including attendance at lectures and tutorials, self-study and revision) is 100 hours.Methods of assessment
