Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to: understand the central integrative role and importance of business strategies for organisational success; identify key issues and problems in complex business situations; appreciate alternative courses of action open to managers confronted by uncertain and ambiguous contexts; understanding strategic concepts, research and theories; and have developed the analytical, decision-making and critical thinking, skills for dealing with the complex conceptual problems faced by top managers.Syllabus
Outline and basic concepts; Strategic aims, resources, and external forces; Strategy content and theories of success; Competitive and Parenting Advantages; Internationalisation; The strategic process.

Students will work in small groups during seminars on tutor-specified case studies.
