Module summary
This module considers the classic texts of strategic analysis from ancient Chinese sages to modern theories of air and sea power and assess their contemporary value. It looks at the theories of Sun Tzu, Vegetius, Machiavelli, Saxe, Kant, Frederick, Napoleon, Clausewitz, Jomini, Mahan, Corbett and Douhet.For further information see the School of Politics and International Studies website. To compare, contrast and evaluate the classic texts of strategic studies.Syllabus
The theories of Sun Tzu, Vegetius, Machiavelli, Saxe, Frederick, Napoleon, Kant, Clausewitz, Jomini, Mahan, Corbett, and Douhet, compared, contrasted and evaluated.
