In this course you will learn to read and translate selected passages from Mark's Gospel (that's euangelion again) and The First Epistle of John (our word epistle comes from the Greek epistole - a letter.) On completion of this module, students should have built on the grammar acquired in New Testament Greek 1 and will have been introduced to the text and translation of elementary portions of the Greek New Testament.Learning outcomes
Knowledge of the basic elements of New Testament Greek grammar, the ability to read and write Greek text and to translate simple sentences.
Syllabus
The syllabus comprises completion of important aspects of grammar not covered in New Testament Greek 1; an introduction to the language and grammar of selected chapters in Mark's Gospel and 1 John with exegetical commentary.
