Objectives
This module gives the student an opportunity to carry out a piece of independent research on a subject of her/his own choice, with appropriate supervision. The subject will be one requiring more extensive and thorough treatment than for THEO3400, and evidence of preparatory work is required before permission to take the module is confirmed. Research and writing skills will be developed and in many cases experience will be gained in such areas as participant observation, field-work, statistics, questionnaire compilation and analysis.Syllabus
