Objectives
To provide an in-depth analysis of Arabic morphology and syntax in order to improve comprehension, translation and writing skills.Learning outcomes
By the end of this module students should be able to demonstrate the ability to provide an in-depth analysis of Arabic morphology and syntax in order to improve comprehension and translation.
Students will be able to deal to translate texts of different registers.
Syllabus
- Morphology: Analysis of usages of the Arabic verb system, noun patterns and particle functions.
- Syntax: Analysis of usages of the various syntactical functions and the word order of simple, compound and complex sentences in Arabic.
