Module summary
This module is the culmination of the studio modules within the Fine Art programme(s). Building towards the final module assessment and the degree show project, the module is designed to prepare you for life beyond undergraduate study, whether in education at a postgraduate level or in work as an artist or arts professional. This is achieved through consolidation of an ambitious and critically informed body of studio work and the development of an individual artistic practice.Objectives
* Continue to build upon, consolidate and be able to critically apply skills learned in the previous module (ARTF 2040);* Continue to engage further with the complex nature of contemporary art practices, in a variety of media, and highly develop critical and analytical skills;
* Critically examine the histories and traditions of practice in order to locate this within the historical and contemporary continuum;
* To establish a body of personal studio work and apply critical skills in the presentation of this as an exhibition.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the module you will be able to:
1. Take risks, experiment extensively with your chosen media, and demonstrate technical expertise.
2. Locate your individual artistic practice within the field of contemporary art and its history.
3. Produce sophisticated artwork that synthesises the conceptual framework for your practice with your chosen materials and processes.
4. Confidently edit your work and utilise appropriate methods of display with skill, to curate and produce cohesive exhibitions of your artwork.

On successful completion of the module you will have demonstrated the following skills learning outcomes:
5. Problem solving: The ability to generate ideas and ‘think outside the box’ to demonstrate originality and imaginative thinking.
6. Personal/self/career management: The ability to be self-reliant and work independently on your own initiative
7. Teamwork/ Collaboration: The ability to build positive relationships with others to enable successful group projects or other collaborations.

Student progress is monitored through regular group reviews and individual and group tutorials:1-to-1 tutorials (6 per module);
Cross-level group crits (8 per module);
Open Studio display during Semester 1;
