Objectives
1. To increase awareness of the importance of delivering construction projects on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.2. To increase understanding of the processes required to manage project schedule, project cost and project quality.
3. To promote competence in using management tools and techniques for managing project schedule, project cost and quality.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this module students will be able to:
1. Have knowledge and understanding of techniques for managing schedule in engineering projects, their limitations and how they may be applied appropriately. (Economic, Legal, Social and Environmental Context).
2.Have knowledge and understanding of techniques for managing cost in engineering projects, their limitations and how they may be applied appropriately. (Economic, Legal, Social and Environmental Context).
3. Have knowledge and understanding of techniques for managing quality in engineering projects, their limitations and how they may be applied appropriately. (Economic, Legal, Social and Environmental Context).
4. Have an awareness of quality issues and their application to continuous improvement. (Engineering Practice).

PROJECT SCHEDULE MANAGEMENT

* Plan schedule management;
* Define activities;
* Sequence activities;
* Estimate activity duration;
* Develop schedule; and
* Control schedule.
PROJECT COST MANAGEMENT
Inputs, tools/techniques and outputs of the following processes:
* Plan cost management;
* Estimate costs;
* Determine budget; and
* Control costs.
PROJECT QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Inputs, tools/techniques and outputs of the following processes:
* Plan quality management;
* Manage quality; and
* Control quality.
