Module summary

This module is an independent small-scale research project, designed and carried out with the support of an individual supervisor. You will be expected to present your research using innovative digital tools that are appropriate to the content.

Objectives

This module aims to help students identify either a topic of immediate individual concern in the field of digital education, either in own professional context or more widely. You will negotiate with an allocated supervisor how this topic might be investigated. This module will enable you to research, design, implement and report on an empirical study or an extended literature review that is directly relevant to your professional context.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the module you will have demonstrated the following subject specific learning outcomes:
1. Identify an appropriate researchable issue in the area of Digital Education with reference to the relevant literature
2. Devise appropriate research questions which are informed by the current research literature in the field of digital education
3. Justify your research design and the analysis and interpretation of your data with reference to appropriate literature

Skills Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of the module you will have demonstrated the following skills learning outcomes:
1. Find, evaluate, organise and share information across a variety of formats and media, ensuring the reliability and integrity both of the sources that you use and of the ideas that they help you to generate.
2. Design and implement a small-scale research study which adheres to relevant ethical guidelines
3. Identify, design and implement research approaches and tools which are commensurate with your research questions

Opportunities for Formative Feedback
