Module summary
This key module will introduce students to essential academic, research and professional skills that will support student success with their degree, research project and beyond.Objectives
- Develop and apply essential study skills to ensure successful engagement and completion of case study and program completion (e.g. academic integrity, plagiarism,Learn how to critically evaluate, summarise and disseminate scientific information relating to your discipline-Introduce approaches to research methodologies.
- Develop and perform advanced statical analysis with the use of appropriate software.
- Build and develop appropriate skills in Food analytical Laboratory techniques (including good laboratory practices, laboratory safety and sustainable laboratory practices).
- Identify and develop relevant research and employability skills taught within their programmes of study, with the ability to self-assess and generate personal development plans.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the module students will have demonstrated the following learning outcomes relevant to the subject:
1. Critically evaluate scientific information to draw appropriate conclusions
2. Utilize statistical tools proficiently to appropriately analyse and interpret data
3. Disseminate findings using scientific communications
4.Self-assess and reflect on personal development.
