Module summary
This module will develop your understanding of what makes an effective leader and what are the differences between a leader and a manager You will be introduced to the theories and practical techniques relating to leadership and change management by analysing the processes of leadership and by looking at how great leaders can influence and drive change within organisations.Objectives
The objectives of the module are to enable you to:1. Analyse and discuss the leadership behaviours within. organisations.
2. Examine the relationship between effective change management and leadership skills.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the module students will have demonstrated the following learning outcomes relevant to the subject:
1. Define the characteristics of responsible and ethical leadership
2. Identify the changes in leadership theories and explain the possible causes-
3. Analyse a change process and identify factors causing resistance to change.
4. Effectively apply a range of change models to a specific organisational problem
Skills Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of the module students will have demonstrated the following skills learning outcomes:
1. Develop critical thinking skills through the use of creative problem-solving and decision-making within a change management context. (Academic)
2. Demonstrate awareness when addressing complex change management problems and identifying future opportunities to create value within an organisational setting (Work Ready)
3. Identify ethical questions and use ethical frameworks when assessing leadership styles. (Sustainability)
