Objectives
- Demonstrate the importance of being research aware- Have an understanding of the nursing associate in this process and the impact on improving patient quality and safety.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the year/programme students should have provided evidence of being able to:
- Critically discuss different methods of research
- Explain how different research methods inform new knowledge in health and social care
- Explain the importance of research in improving the quality of patient safety and care
- Participate in a research or project improvement project
- Be able to identify if new and innovative technologies should be considered for use in routine practice.
- Identify and manage the ethical issues associated with the conduct of an independent project.

- Undertake a critical review of the literature
- Prepare a research report.

The modules on this programme are delivered by block teaching which distributes the teaching over a number of days/weeks using a combination of Lectures, Seminars, Workshops and Tutorials.Private study and independent working for this module will be focussed on researching for an appropriate topic, searching for relevant literature for the chosen topic area and writing up the project.
