Module summary

This module enables students to demonstrate and develop their knowledge and skills and reflect on experiential learning within a work-based setting with a particular focus on meeting the needs of learners with SEND.

Objectives

To develop the ability to relate theory to practice and critically explore issues and challenges in the workplace

To develop the ability to reflect on and draw knowledge and understanding from experience in the workplace

To develop an understanding of SEND practice, the roles of staff in supporting learners with SEND and how to manage learning activities for SEND learners

Learning outcomes
On completion of this module, students should be able to:

1. Critically explore issues and challenges relating to SEND practice

2. Identify and demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed to undertake and manage learning activities for learners with SEND

3. Identify and demonstrate good practice in working with learners with SEND

4. Reflect upon the roles of staff in supporting learners with SEND

5. Critically reflect on their own role in supporting learning and assisting skilled practitioners at work

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

There will be ongoing monitoring of student progress throughout the module via student blogs, and tutors will be available via email and TEAMS. There will also be tutorials to monitor progress and formative feedback on drafts.
