Module summary
The module will provide opportunities for students to develop and articulate the employment focused skills that they have while gaining insights and experience into different graduate careers so that they are better equipped to realise their aspirations on graduation. Objectives
The module enables LUBS students to gain a better understanding of the range of opportunities available to them after level two and helps them develop the knowledge, skills and attributes required to compete successfully for these opportunities so that they are better prepared and equipped to achieve their goals on graduation. It also aims to provide additional support to students from non-traditional groups in furthering their aspirations on graduation, and overcome barriers including lack of access to informal networks of family and friends able to provide career advice and financial challenges in accessing unpaid work experience opportunities (internships).
Participants in the module will visit local graduate employers to gain insights into graduate job opportunities, participate in skills development workshops (covering skills like teamwork, communication, problem-solving, commercial awareness) with local business people and receive mentoring support as part of the module.
