Module summary

In this module you will explore key global developments and trends and locate them within the field of international business. Through your reading and interpretation of quality reporting you will be encouraged to recognise and debate key contemporary topics and infer the likely impact for industries and sectors active within the international business environment. The module will draw on the research expertise at the Centre for International Business, the University of Leeds.

Objectives

This module aims to develop your awareness of contemporary trends in the international business environment and locate them within the field of international business studies. Diverse topics are introduced that are of significance within both practitioner and academic circles.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge / Application:

On successful completion of this module students will be able to:
- Identify and interpret emerging global issues and trends that are relevant to international business.
- Locate and predict global issues and trends within the field of international business studies.
- Infer and illustrate how recent and current developments in the political, economic, social, technological and environmental arenas are likely to influence the international business environment.
- Confidently appraise and debate a range of topical issues confronting industries, sectors and firms in international business.

Transferable Skills:

On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Independently identify contemporary topics in international business
- Develop, structure, and justify arguments
- Identify problems and approach them systematically
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
