Module summary
This module integrates knowledge of Strategic and Entrepreneurial Management. The unique blend of topics will equip you with the leadership and analytical skills necessary to manage organizations that compete in rapidly changing business environments. You will appreciate how uncertainties of globalisation, new business models, disruptive technologies and changes in societal aspirations challenge competitive positions and managerial decision-making. You will also acquire thorough insight into the content and process of strategy; be competent strategic decision-maker; and have the knowledge and skills to be an effective manager of a strategic initiative.Objectives
This module introduces students to topics that will equip them to make strategic judgements under uncertainty by applying rigorous analytical models appropriately and utilising in-depth understanding of strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship.Learning outcomes
Knowledge/application
Upon completion of this module students will be able to:
- Analyse the competitive and collaborative behaviour of companies and apply strategic concepts to analyse global and competitive environment using strategic models
- Evaluate different approaches to strategizing and subsequently formulate and implement strategies
- Identify links between theory and practice by applying strategic concepts and tools
- Apply conceptual knowledge to analysing case studies

Course work consists of group project focused on New Venture Challenge. This group project effectively integrates strategic thinking with entrepreneurial attitudes and creates unique experience in growing an independent venture or new venture in corporate environment.
