Objectives

The module aims to extend student knowledge of the concepts and principles studied in other modules in innovation and provide critical understanding of specific innovation principles, practices, tools and processes needed for the management and development of innovation.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this module students will be able to:
- Identify and manage activities required for an innovation management process
- Apply knowledge, tools and processes in real world innovation projects, working individually and collaboratively as part of a team
- Assess and communicate the commercial viability of specific innovations
- Identify and manage the challenges and risks facing organisations as they manage and develop specific innovations
- Critically assess innovation management processes and policies of an organisation

Skills outcomes
Upon completion of this module students will be able to:

- Apply a range of commercial, collaboration and communication skills in industry or academic settings

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Students receive feedback each week during the timetabled workshops as part of their team group activity. Students also receive written feedback on their Weekly Reflective Journals part way through the module.
