Module summary
This module will cover main techniques of influence and intervention drawn from on Michie et al’s (2011) Behavioral Change Wheel which considers behaviour in terms of the underlying capability, motivation and opportunity behind it. You will learn how to develop an evidence-based behaviour change intervention, and how to evaluate its effectiveness. You will build up your knowledge of a range of theoretical aspects of techniques of influence, and this will culminate in the (self-identified) case study which you will evaluate as your assessment. Objectives
This module will cover the main techniques of influence and intervention drawn from Michie et al’s (2011) Behavioural Change Wheel. This is based on a review of behaviour change interventions and considers behaviour in terms of the underlying capability, motivation and opportunity behind it. This approach can be used to develop interventions to change behaviour in a range of domains. The module will be tailored to applications of the theories discussed and provide useful skills for a variety of business functions as well as for personal development.Learning outcomes
