Objectives
On completion of this module, students should:- be able to write and maintain a CV;
- have an understanding of client handling;
- have undertaken teaching and/or coaching awards at an intermediate level, or an equivalent research/work placement experience;
- be aware of potential career paths and opportunities;
- understand the principles of research design;
- understand and apply qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection;
- understand and apply methods of statistical analysis;
- use statistical packages, as appropriate;
- critically analyse scientific literature;
- be able to demonstrate critical awareness
- manage in a professional manner relationships with agencies and participants.
- design and undertake a scientific experiment
- produce a scientific report
- have an understanding of the issues of performance enhancement strategies in sport

Private study
Students will be expected to study towards gaining National Governing Body Coaching awards and/or research the requirements for their future career aspiriations. In support of the topics considered within this module students are required to, complete additional reading, and to complete a workbook of statistical techniques throughout the module.Opportunities for Formative Feedback
This will be undertaken by summative assessments in both semesters and formatively by following a workbook utilised in the statistical workshops of semester 2.Methods of assessment
