Objectives
To provide training in the analysis and interpretation of experimental and numerical data, problem solving, teamwork, essay writing and presentation skills. Also to work with students to enhance employabilityLearning outcomes
At the end of the module students should have:
1. Improved ability to critically assess data from a range of different experimental methods;
2. Have confidence in the handling of numerical data and writing essays;
3. Delivered short presentations on scientific topics to their peers;
4. Be prepared to design and undertake a research project in final year.
Syllabus
BIOC2303 delivers skills teaching to support learning across the breadth of the L2 Biochemistry syllabus. Teaching will be delivered in a range of different class sizes ranging from 5 students to whole class, and will include numerical data handling, essay writing, oral presentations, self-directed learning and critical analysis of research data.
BIOC2303 also contributes to the distinctiveness of the Biochemistry and Medical Biochemistry degrees as a subset of the problems are themed for each cohort of students.
