Objectives
To foster a sound approach to Biochemical research. On completion of this module, the students should be able to:1. Demonstrate a professional working attitude in a Biochemistry laboratory.
2. Develop a strategy for undertaking a specific research project.
3. Demonstrate communication skills.
4. Analyse, process and interpret data.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the module student will be able to:
1. Manage Knowledge: sourcing / selecting / interpreting data, data evaluation / problem solving.
2. Demonstrate technical Competence: laboratory techniques, experimental design, analysing data.

Syllabus
Depending on the type of project, an appropriate combination of practical work in advanced biochemistry/biotechnology research, designing experimental protocols, carrying out research investigations and interpreting experimental data; literature searching, reading and reviewing; report writing; computer work; developing oral and written presentational skills.
