Module summary
A basic Pure Maths course for students who have not done A-level Mathematics.Objectives
To teach basic mathematics up to A-level standard.On completion of this module, students will be able to calculate the derivatives of elementary functions and apply this knowledge to problems.
Syllabus
- Laws of indices including e a+b, logarithms
- Elementary trigonometry, sine and cosine rules
- Inverse trigonometric functions
- Geometry of lines and circles
- Elementary differentiation, derivatives of powers, trigonometric, logarithmic and exponential functions
- Basic rules of differentiation; maxima and minima.
