Module summary
This module covers basic concepts in statistics and probability which have applications in Business and Economics.Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to:(a) process data to produce histograms etc and determine means, medians and standard deviation for discrete, continuous, grouped, ungrouped data;
(b) calculate probabilities, in particular in connection with the binomial distribution;
(c) use the standard normal curve (i) to approximate to binomial probabilities and (ii) to obtain confidence intervals.
