Objectives
On completion of the module, students should be able to:- plan a programme of research work together with the supervisor;
- operate effectively as a team when more than one person is working on the project;
- conduct a detailed literature search and prepare a structured reading list;
- appraise the importance and relevance of the information obtained;
- carry out a piece of theoretical, experimental, or observational research in astrophysics under supervision;
- present a written report in good scientific language;
- present an oral report on the project;
- describe, defend and criticise the project during a viva-voce.
