Pre-requisite qualifications
Requires successful completion of level 2 BSc modules with a 2:1 average (59% or above, and a minimum of 100 credits at level 2).This module is not approved as a discovery module
Objectives
By the end of the BSc module, you should be able to:- communicate fluently in the host nation's language (either French, Spanish, German or Danish);
- contrast different approaches to learning and teaching in another culture;
- illustrate your initiative and commitment to study during the placement abroad.
Skills outcomes
The ability to adapt to a new learning environment in a different culture.
Syllabus
The syllabus depends upon the courses offered by the host institute. The experience of previous students is used as a guide to the enrolment on suitable courses (which complement the physics courses at Leeds).
The following rules apply:
a) The student must discuss and agree their overseas module selections with the Leeds Study Abroad Convenor. The Leeds Study Abroad Convenor will discuss and agree the student's final module selection with the overseas institution's exchange co-ordinator.
b) the student should take roughly the same credit load as full-time students at the host institution;
c) the student must pass at least 50% of the modules taken abroad.
