Objectives
To introduce fundamental psychological principles, theory and research in the domain of sport and exercise.Learning outcomes
On completion of the module students will be able to:
1. Explain a basic knowledge and understanding of foundational topic areas in sport and exercise psychology;
2. Define and discuss psychological theories and basic research;
3. Integrate psychological principles in the context of sport and exercise;
4. Have an appreciation of issues affecting sport and exercise behaviour from a psychological perspective and describe them;
5. Engage, interpret and discuss practical sessions relating to selected psychological skills training.
