Objectives
On completion of this module, students will:- improve their understanding and management of common and important nutritional problems of childhood;
- understand the processes involved in growth, both normal and abnormal;
- improve their skills in managing children with growth problems.
Syllabus
This module is divided into two components:
- The first addresses the nutritional requirements of infants and children, the assessment of dietary and nutritional status, and the management of children with eating difficulties and nutritional problems.
- The second component focuses on the identification of normal and abnormal patterns of growth and puberty, the management of organic and non-organic growth failure and the epidemiology of growth.
