Objectives
On completion of this module, students will:- have improved their skills in communicating with both colleagues and patients;
- have the opportunity to reflect on problems arising in the course of their work, and how they might be handled;
- understand the structure and functioning of the NHS.
Syllabus
This module helps participants consider how to communicate effectively with children, their parents and colleagues.
The course focuses on listening skills, communication in the clinical setting, handling difficult situations, written communication, presentation of papers and lectures, and understanding management issues in working in the NHS.
Students are encouraged to discuss cases and situations which have arisen in their work.
