Objectives

On completion of this module, students will:
- have increased their understanding of factors influencing child development;
- appreciate the issues surrounding normal and abnormal behaviour;
- a greater understanding of the management of children with communication and behavioural difficulties.

Syllabus

The programme will look at current thinking on social, emotional and psycho-sexual development, language development and the factors that influence these.

Common behavioural problems, management strategies and the use of children's psychology and psychiatric services will be discussed.
