Objectives
On completion of this module, students will have:- improved their literature searching skills;
- gained practice and skill in critically appraising original research articles;
- collected the evidence in a clear, coherent way;
- prepared a paper for submission for publication.
Syllabus
This module is intended for students in special circumstances who are unable to complete the modules for the MMedSc in Child Health. Students will choose a topic of interest and explore the evidence base for it.
The topic selected should relate to some aspect of their clinical work in paediatrics and child health.
The assignment will be written up according to the format of the BMJ publication "Clinical Evidence". There will be no formal teaching, but tutorials will support the work. This module might be suitable for long-distance learning.

- Searching the electronic databases; critically appraising and summarising the evidence.- The whole module is private study, with the exception of tutorials.
