Objectives
This module aims to provide students with the research skills to analyse and report on an agreed economics problem.Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this module students will be able to:
- Recognise and describe research skills for use in an economics essay
- Identify software tools used for research

- Apply the basic independent research skills of planning & organisation
- Utilise computer and essay writing skills
Syllabus
This module covers three main topic areas:
(1) introduction to the economics essay and research skills
(2) the essay and software tools for research
(3) the essay and the write-up
Coverage includes essay structure, citation, bibliography, and the presentation of equations and tables of numbers.
