Module summary

This module covers the sale of goods, both business to business and business to consumer. The broader emphasis is on "commercial" transactions rather than "consumer" ones, though much of the law is of course common to both. The module will provide an examination of elements that are necessary to fully understand the nature of commercial sales, namely standard trade terms, bills of lading and payments methods such as letters of credit. It will also cover consumer protection issues that arise in relation to the sale of goods to consumers. Consumer sales constitute a large proportion of sales transactions and are an essential element to retail markets. This is a 20 credit module which runs across both semesters, totalling 20 lectures and seven seminars.
