Objectives

By the end of the course, students will understand the use and interpretation of modern statistical methods and their implementation in the statistical package R.

Skills outcomes
Students will develop statistical skills in the context of current research and practice in biodiversity and conservation.


Syllabus

The module will consist of practical training and exercises in:
Use and interpretation of modern statistical methods including General Linear Models, Generalised Linear Models, General Linear Mixed Models and Multivariate Analysis, and their application to biological problems.
Use of the statistical package R.
