Module summaryDo you need help discovering your passion for future careers or to understand your values, skills or interests to express yourself and impress future employers. This module has been designed exclusively for level 2 students, to develop your knowledge and skills across the following 4 key areas:Identity – develop your self-awareness and how this relates to your courseWorkplace – understand how you fit within the workplace and what employers are looking for in a graduateProfessional Image – how to articulate an external, professional image to future employersDigital Literacy – develop confidence in expressing yourself digitallyNo prior knowledge or skills are needed for this module and you will be able to contextualise the content to suit the sectors that you are most interested in.This is a practical and highly interactive module led by the University’s Professional Careers Consultants requiring attendance at all sessions. All assessments are coursework based and have no exams. To meet the learning outcomes no student will be permitted join after the end of session two. ObjectivesIn order to make informed decisions to assist your future career choices, this module will support the development of self-awareness, motivations, values and skill-set. This can be applied to either further study or employment and future promotion.
Against this background, you will also study the current graduate labour market, including future trends, identifying methods to enhance your skillset in areas where you may lack experience or confidence.
The module will consider different ways of articulating your values, skills and attributes through creating a professional image that will appeal to a range of employers. These methods include different digital formats which will build your skills and profile for the future.
By the end of this module students will have:
Developed their level of self-awareness, as a Level 2 student, to gain a better understanding of their student identity (including values, skills and attributes) in relation to the current graduate labour market.
Researched and analysed the current and future labour market in order to self-evaluate their current skillset, as a Level 2 student, for graduate employment including commercial awareness.
Demonstrated the capability to communicate effectively through a professional presentation, as a Level 2 student.
Enhanced their digital capabilities, as a Level 2 student, in order to develop their confidence in presenting a professional image for the workplace.
Reflected upon their learning to date in order to formulate an informed action plan for their future professional development, as a Level 2 student.

Private studyAll students are expected to undertake a minimum of 2 hrs per week in private study preparing for their weekly taught sessions. This is in addition for the work to be undertaken to develop and create their assessed submissions which include a group presentation and an individual resource
