Pre-requisite qualifications
We expect students to have attained a minimum mark of 80% in ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, or Rockschool Grade 8 or equivalent, or to be of equivalent standard.Students will not be able to enrol on this module directly. If you are a Single or Joint Honours Music student, please return the forms that you have been sent in August in order to select this module.

Module summary
This module addresses the progressive development of instrumental or vocal technique and the development of performance skills through repertoire studies, the development of associated skills of aural awareness, sight reading and memorising, and skills in time-management and professional communication. Students will take individual lessons with a specialist teacher. These are normally taken at fortnightly intervals. Students are expected to practice for a minimum of an hour a day with only occasional days of rest from practice. Assessment includes two short performances and two pieces of written work.Objectives

Syllabus
This varies from student to student depending upon the chosen instrumental or vocal study. Students will take individual lessons with a specialist teacher. These are normally taken at fortnightly intervals.
Students are expected to practice for a minimum of an hour a day with only occasional days of rest from practice; students may be expected to take part in departmental ensembles as appropriate.
