Objectives

This module provides a deeper appreciation of effective management decision making, focusing on the practical application of behavioural decision theory to complex, real world and managerial issues. It will provide the PGR students with the opportunity to develop their decision-making and analytical skills by introducing topics like negotiation and mental accounting while enhancing their skills in the use of decision aids.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this module students will be able to:
- understand the complexities and best practice for negotiation
- understand the issues and biases in group decision-making
- appreciate mental accounting from the area of behavioural economics
- utilise a range of structured decision aids designed to improve human decision making at both theoretical and practical levels
- utilise the statistical language R for analysis and decision-making

1. Negotiation
2. Group Decision Making
3. Mental Accounting
4. Advanced Decision aids – TOPSIS and SURE
5. Introduction to R and the MCDA package
6. Using analytical methods in R for decision-making
