Module summary

The accounting industry and profession is facing a period of rapid and radical regulatory and technological change. As a graduate in this field, this module aims to build your awareness and understanding of the pace of change in the industry and the potential impact of this change on the future of both the profession and the industry. The module will consider a range of topical issues, which by their nature will vary from year to year, with input from the leading experts in the field. Further, the module should help you demonstrate strong commercial awareness, through your ability to critically discuss the potential impact of these issues going forward.

Objectives

This module aims to build students' awareness and understanding of the pace of change in the accounting industry. The module will consider a range of topical issues, which by their nature will vary from year to year, with input from leading experts in the field. The module will help students develop an insight into contemporary accounting issues, appropriate to a professional in this discipline. Further, students should be able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness, through their ability to critically discuss the potential impact of these issues on the future of both the profession and the industry.
