The group project tasks students with first identifying at least two pieces of existing research that demonstrate different approaches / use different methods to engage with the same topic. Students will highlight key features of each paper in terms of areas such as research questions, methods, sampling strategy etc. and provide a critique of the approach adopted by each paper, highlighting potential strengths and weaknesses. Resits will be completed as individual written submissions. The proposal provides an opportunity for students to develop a project that will carry through to their final year projects. Students will define a research area and develop research questions, select and justify an appropriate research approach, and write a short literature review or annotated bibliography.
