This module is not approved as an Elective


On completion of this module, students will be able to complete a project, on an exploration structural geological/geophysical subject, lasting for at least 4 months full-time.


Investigation of a structural geological/geophysical subject - chosen by the student in consultation with sponsor/teaching staff. The specification and content of each project is unique but all will involve primary data interpretation and synthesis, together with a contextual review which in most cases will involve comparison with previous literature.

Projects could involve collaboration with an industry or research partner, carried out partially at their office. 4 months duration, including preparation time for assessments. University advisor (and guidance from an industry mentor where appropriate). Projects generally represent an appropriate volume of independent data handling, analysis, and critical assessment.
