Objectives
To provide students with a sound understanding of the principles underlying traffic assignment models. To ensure that they understand the ways in which these models may be applied to assess a range of practical situations. To ensure that they are able to use the SATURN software package, and to correctly interpret its inputs and outputs.Syllabus
Basic components of traffic assignment models. Wardrop Equilibrium Models. Solution Algorithms. Elastic assignment. Trip matrix estimation. Data quality and error analysis. Network aggregation. Applications: capacity changes; road pricing. Developing country applications. SATURN training: network coding, model principles, convergence, calibration, validation, case studies.
