- ABB at A-level, including Grade A in English. General Studies is not accepted.
- International Baccalaureate: 34 points overall, including 16 at the Higher Level.

Programme specification:
The programme will critically engage with the nature of Political Studies and Sociology furnishing the student with a historically informed and theoretically aware academic understanding of the dynamics of political phenomena and an in depth understanding of political processes, both at the domestic and international levels. It develops knowledge and understanding of the social world, from a distinctively 'social' point of view, focusing on the relations that connect individuals, groups and institutions.

Students must study 120 credits.
In level 1, students are required to pass a minimum of 40 credits in each of their two main subjects. The further 40 credits may consist of discovery modules in a third subject or may consist of further modules in one or both main subjects. Students must pass 100 credits and all core modules as identified in the programme.

Students must study 120 credits.
Over levels 2 and 3 taken combined students must pass:
- Politics: a minimum of 80 credits (at least 40 credits must be at level 3)
- Sociology: a minimum of 80 credits (at least 40 credits must be at level 3)
- Plus 40 credits in the named subjects and used to ensure that credits at the appropriate level for award are taken.
- Plus 40 credits in elective modules or further modules in the named subjects.
In order to be eligible for an honours degree, students must meet the normal Rules for Award by passing all modules which are designated to be passed for award or progression and by passing the required number of credits at each level as specified in the Curricular Regulations (at least 200 credits at level 2 or above, of which at least 100 should be at level 3). Students must pass at least 100 credits at Level 2 and all core modules to proceed to the next level of the programme.

Students pursue a year in Industry. Students should expect to pass this element in order to proceed to the final year. Students must pass the industrial placement year in order to be awarded the degree entitled ‘Industrial'.

Students must study 120 credits.
