The MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation with African Field Course is designed to provide students with:
- an understanding of the biological principles and institutional framework underlying biodiversity and its conservation;
- a core body of transferable skills required to operate effectively in an academic and/or professional career in biodiversity and conservation;
- experience in biodiversity or conservation-related research;
- the opportunity to design a course of study to fit their chosen career paths, to lay the groundwork for further academic work and/or professional development in biodiversity and conservation;
- an understanding of the ecology and conservation issues of African savannah habitats

There are 90 credits of compulsory modules and 90 credits of optional modules. Candidates will be required to take 60-90 credits in year 1 and the remaining credits in year 2. BLGY5391M Masters Research Project will be undertaken in year 2.
