Year 2

Learning outcomes

On completion of the year students should have provided evidence of being able to:
- speak and understand everyday conversation, write basic sentences and read simple texts in the target language
- acquire academic and practical knowledge of contemporary China
- learn how to live and study successfully in China

Transferable (key) skills

Students will have had the opportunity to develop and practise:
- oral, written and practical skills in the target language;
- the organisation of life and study in China;
- inter-personal skills required to operate in Chinese society
- report writing skills.

Assessment

Achievement will be assessed (on a Pass/Fail basis) by
- submission of a year-abroad log
- regular tests and examinations set by the Chinese university and the University of Leeds
