Assessment

The Subject Specific and Skills Learning outcomes can be met through the two core modules which combine 1000-word critical exercises as their first assessments, and longer 2,500 word essays for their second assessments. A research exercise requiring the locating, analysis and evaluation of appropriate sources forms the first assessment of both option modules in Basket 1. A critique exercise requiring the development of close reading skills forms the first assessment of both option modules in Basket 2. Together, they work to enhance the different elements tested at Level 1, while preparing students for the advanced research skills required at Level 3.
