Learning outcomes
For Study Abroad StudentsOn completion of the year you will have provided evidence of being able to:- demonstrate their ability to cope with a significant change in their environment and to adapt to a new culture;- broaden their understanding and knowledge of new subjects;- broadened their knowledge in specific areas of Politics and International Studies and/or related subject(s);- gain a deeper understanding of the country in which they are studying (for example, its culture, history and politics).ORFor Horizon Year Abroad StudentsOn completion of your international year you will:- have an improved understanding of the culture of another country, reflecting on similarities and differences to your homeculture;- have engaged with a new environment whilst demonstrating attitudes to operate effectively as a global citizen.
Transferable (key) skills
Students will have had the opportunity to acquire, as defined in the modules specified for the programme:- skills of adaptability and cultural flexibility;- skills necessary for the exercising of personal responsibility and decision making- enhanced communication skills, using another language (where appropriate).
