Learning outcomes
1) Use a range of generated ideas in response to graphic and communication creative challenges. 2) Apply skills and knowledge to create graphic design outcomes in response to a brief. 3) Express concepts, arguments, and outcomes in a variety of forms informed by graphic and communication design theory and practice. 4) Identify relevant research resources in the context of graphic and communication design challenges. Skills Learning Outcomes1) Apply effective written/visual/other communication skills to present ideas 2) Apply technical skills in creating and formatting design outcomes 3) Demonstrate the ability to critically reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of their own work.
Assessment
Students will be assessed through a variety of methods. These may include visual 2D and 3D responses, portfolios of text and image, blogs, short videos, presentations as well as more traditional essays, reports and occasional exams. Some assessments may be based upon collaboration with peers. This collaboration could be in the development of artefacts, proposals and/or various forms of visual and textual communication in response to problem-based issues. In Year 1 assessments focus on the understanding and acquisition of new knowledge and practical, digital, academic and professional skills
