Learning outcomes
On completion of Level 2, you will be able to:1. identify and discuss aspects of Ancient History and History, recognising their complexity and diversity: the aspect(s) involved will depend on choice of options.2. reflect upon the problematic nature of historical interpretation and evidence, and appropriately apply critical terminology.3. identify and employ the main methods of historical enquiry and critically evaluate the appropriateness of different methods of enquiry.Skills Learning OutcomesOn completion of Level 2, you will be able to:1. effectively communicate information, arguments and analysis in a variety of forms, making use of appropriate critical terminology.2. initiate and undertake the analysis of data and information, applying standard techniques for close work on sources.3. adjust to professional and disciplinary boundaries.
Assessment
Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme. These may include essays, presentations, source analysis exercises, literature reviews, bibliography exercises, museum/object reports, commentaries, creative writing exercises, computer exercises, virtual exhibitions and exams.
