Learning outcomes
• Self-direct and manage projects with support where required to generate digital research that is informed by key debates, methods, and practices.• Demonstrate criticality, reflexivity, and creativity in analysing, evaluating, and developing digital media, including its theories, practices and relationship with society. • Develop advanced independent digital media outcomes informed by self-directed research.• Critically analyse the legal, ethical and regulatory frameworks which affect digital media. Skills Learning Outcomes• Research Skills: Devise and execute a research-led project, select appropriate research methodologies, organise, and manage resources and adhere to ethical and professional principles.• Creativity and Technical Skills: Initiate, develop and realise digital media outcomes that are critical, creative, and professional. • Critical Thinking: Critical engagement with academic and non-academic sources in the field of digital media, and critical reflection on learning and creative projects. • Communication Skills: Communicate and share work on digital media across a range of contexts and with different audiences.
Assessment
The final year of the BA Digital Media can encompass a wide range of assessment, dependent on students’ module selections. This can include essay plans and essays, pitches, presentations and product creation or a 10-12,000 word dissertation. Optional modules cover a wide range of assessments, including literature reviews, essays and presentations.
