Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the year, students will be able to: Politics 1.Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of one or more political system. 2. Demonstrate in-depth understanding of one or more particular field of political theory. 3. Use theories and concepts to critically appraise key aspects of political systems, approaches and processes. Economics 4. Use intermediate microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis. 5. Use a range of techniques to initiate and undertake the analysis of data and information. Skills Learning OutcomesAt the end of L2 you will be able to: 1. Retrieve, organise, and produce complex summaries of information and/or data, and to generate new data. 2. Assemble complex arguments and assessments and be able to evaluate and criticise the arguments of others. 3. Work with others in a collaborative way and understand the challenges such collaboration. 4. Have a developed understanding of digital technologies and be able to use them to retrieve data and information and to communicate this information to others.
Assessment
Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will include: (1) demonstrating the knowledge and application of standard themes, concepts, and theories relating to International Development; and (2) demonstrating emerging abilities, skills and competencies in a variety formats. These formats may include: essays, reports, learning logs, blogs, literature reviews, presentations, poster-presentations, and podcasts. Assessment will be both formative and summative, and will be supported with feedback.
