Learning outcomes
By the end of Level 2, students will: 1. be able to demonstrate, especially through work on core modules, a broad understanding of the concepts, information, practical competencies and techniques which are standard features in a range of aspects of the disciplines of English and Film Studies. 2. be able to apply generic and subject specific intellectual qualities to standard situations outside the context in which they were originally studied 3. be able to demonstrate knowledge of a range of texts, genres, aesthetic forms and cultural practices, and the ability to produce close and informed analysis of these Skills Learning OutcomesBy the end of Level 2, students will be able to: 1. select and apply appropriate advanced methodologies related to the subjects studied 2. engage in sustained analytical, evaluative and lateral thinking and to marshal arguments 3. work with others, under pressure, and to meet deadlines
Assessment
The Subject Specific and Skills Learning outcomes can be met through the three core modules, regardless of optionality. The core modules embed a variety of alternative forms of assessments, including reflective logs, portfolios and group presentations, preparing students for diverse modes of assessment later in the programme. Forms of assessment differ across the option modules, with an emphasis on different types of coursework.
